The unique structure of Gallery Cuvée is an excellent opportunity for artists who are looking for a solid home for a small body of work on a continual basis. The basic premise of our setup was born as a result of the frustration many of us felt with the time-in-between shows when our work was out of the public eye.
Different from most co-op style galleries, Gallery Cuvée allows its members to show a small body of rotating work on a permanent basis. This has several advantages: it creates a constant presence in Denver’s premier Art District, it motivates the artist to constantly create and drive their craft ever higher, and it eliminates the potential loss of sales from being out of the collector’s mind after the traditional show duration is up.
Additionally, we are able to capitalize on our placement within the 910 Arts Building, home of The Event Center at 910 and Studio 6 Coffee House- two of the biggest draws in The Art District.
Our hours of operation mimic those of the coffee house (8:30 AM- 7PM Monday through Friday and 9AM-4PM on Saturdays), giving us the most open hours of any gallery in The Art District (many are only open two to four days a month).
Members are not expected to “sit” the gallery, though we encourage them to be present for event nights when possible. Work is rotated on a monthly basis, creating a constantly fresh feel to the space, and we encourage collaboration between artists of our group.
The expense of showing at Gallery Cuvée is $150/ month with no commission charged at all on the sale of work. (The only exception would be if a collector chooses to pay via credit card, in which case the artist pays the exact amount of the processing fee- roughly 3.4%)
